How do I become a Short Sale Specialist?

Short sales are something many of you may think of as a bad word, but they’re back.

We’re heading back to short sales and that part of the market. You might not see it in your market, but ask around and you’ll see them making a comeback. It’s not about whether they’re coming, it’s about what you’re going to do now that they’re here.

What you need more than anything to be successful with short sales is a great short sale negotiator.

Back in 2009, I actually operated a short sale business, and I had a couple of great negotiators that I worked with. I actually heard from one of them this week, which is where I heard about short sales being back. He has processed and closed more than 2,000 short sale transactions since 2010 and is now busier than he’s ever been.

The banks are going to get aggressive this time.

The banks let a lot of people stay in their homes for a long time, but we’re hearing that’s not going to be the case this time around. Over the course of the next six to 12 months, a lot more short sales will be showing up on our doorstep. If you want to know how to get them done, let me know. I’d be happy to help you out.
